Chronic Pain & Persistent Symptoms
You may feel that the approaches you’ve tried have not fully addressed the root of what is happening. Many clients arrive here after years of medical treatment, therapy, and self-help strategies, without finding lasting relief.
This work focuses on understanding what may be keeping symptoms active and helping the brain and body learn different responses that can support symptom reduction and greater ease in daily life.
A Different Perspective
The nervous system is shaped by lived experience.
Over time, it can begin associating certain sensations, movements, or internal states with danger, continuing protective responses long after the original need for protection has passed. Pain science and neuroscience show that this can contribute to ongoing pain, tension, fatigue, digestive and skin issues, and other persistent symptoms.
This is not malfunction.
It is adaptation.
Through structured coaching and experiential practices, the body can begin responding with less protection, less reactivity, and fewer persistent symptoms.
Symptoms are real. There is a reason for them. Change is possible.
-
After stress or injury, the body can keep protective patterns (pain, tension, fatigue, dizziness, digestive issues) because it has learned to stay on alert. These patterns can outlast the original threat even when healing has occurred.
-
Protective responses are the body’s ways of keeping you safe — increased tension, hypersensitivity, fatigue, or vigilance. They’re learned adaptations, not signs of damage.

Is This Work a Fit for Me?
This work may be a good fit if:
symptoms persist despite appropriate medical evaluation
symptoms fluctuate with stress or emotional states
you feel stuck in recurring patterns
you want to move beyond symptom management alone
you’re open to exploring symptoms with curiosity and active participation in change
A Different Approach
Rather than focusing only on symptom management, this work explores symptoms through a brain and nervous system lens to work with the learned patterns and protective responses that may be maintaining them. Using principles of neuroplasticity, we work to retrain these responses, often reducing the intensity and persistence of chronic pain and other symptoms.
Why Nervous System Change Matters
As protective patterns begin to shift, many people experience:
less pain and symptom intensity
reduced fear and reactivity around symptoms
greater ability to engage in daily life
less exhaustion from constantly managing symptoms
increased freedom, flexibility, and capacity
a growing sense of trust in the body
-
Sessions are conversational and gently guided, attending to your body, emotions, and sensations.
There is space to pause, notice, reflect, and move at your own pace.
We may explore experiences, expectations, and fears that have formed around your symptoms, and how those shape the body’s responses.
Depending on your needs, we may incorporate
guided breathwork
nervous system education
emotional processing
somatic awareness practices
pain or symptom reprocessing approaches

This work is complementary and designed to support -not replace- appropriate medical or psychological care.
It is not medical treatment, diagnosis, or psychotherapy.
It is not appropriate for new, acute, or medically unexplained symptoms that have not yet been evaluated by a licensed healthcare provider.
It is not about bypassing emotion or forcing change.
This work is intended for individuals who have already received appropriate medical evaluation to rule out serious underlying conditions.
